Another year, another summit. And a lot to get through from this excellent list of speakers.

We were lucky enough to have more than one member of the JAM FAM in attendance, and were able to spread our feelers and soak up as much of that lovely AWS knowledge as possible.

So – what did we learn?

Trying to summarize everything would be a tall order, but here are our top 3 takeaways.

1. AWS is becoming more and more chaotic…

What we mean of course is that AWS is making the welcome move to deepen their chaos engineering offering.

The AWS Fault Injection Simulator means battle-testing infrastructures against the forces of chaos, and it looks to be one of their most comprehensive services yet.

2. The Melbourne region will arrive in 2022

The long-awaited Melbourne Region is officially going to be here late 2022.

This means less latency for many running workloads in ANZ – plus a lot more flexibility depending on how things pan out.

We’re excited for this one.

3. AWS are true innovators

One thing that stood out across all the talks was AWS’s commitment to making cloud something that it never has been.

Truly accessible .

In making their services more and more flexible and driving down every barrier to adoption, AWS are building a world in which every business – huge or tiny – can easily benefit from cloud services.

This truly sets them apart from the competition. And we can’t wait to see what they’ll get up to next.
